Kings Head move to the top of the league

The Kings Head A have become the new leaders of the Welshpool and District Darts League Sponsored by The New Saints FC.

A 7-0 win over their Oak village rivals moved them to 31 points with Kacey Jones (180, 118 out shot and a 15-dart 501), Dave Rix (180, 15 and 18-dart 501s), John Gamble, Oscar Hyland and Gareth Steadman winning their singles and also taking the doubles for the away team. The Oak are equal bottom on 13 points.

The Compass have moved into equal second on 29 points with a 5-2 win at the Westwood A. Dan Hoseine, Cameron Williams, Brian Jones and both doubles for the Compass while Gareth Ashley (2 x 180s and a 13-dart 501) and Alan James won for the home team. The Westwood are now fourth with 26 points.

The Green Dragon A moved into second with a 4-3 win against the Westwood B. Robin Shingler (177), Mitch Butler (180) and Rhys Butler won for the Dragon A, while Jamie Cater and Jordan Harding won for the Westwood B. The doubles were shared. The Westwood B are now in fifth on 22 points.

The Green Dragon C are in sixth on 18 points after going down 4-3 in a well fought match with the Punchbowl.

Mike Hall, Chris Jay (180, and a 100 out shot) and Mal Stone won for the Punchbowl. Gethin Stephens and Dave Knight won for the Dragon C. The Punchbowl are now seventh with 16 points.

The Grapes A are eighth with 13 points after beating the Red Lion Llanfair 4-3. This leaves the Red Lion on the same points in ninth spot.

Colin Quinn, Andy Ralph and Dan Langford won for the Grapes A. Tom Evans and John O'Sullivan won for the Red with the doubles shared.

In the second division, the Pheasant opened up a lead of five points at the top (29 points), after a 7-0 win over the Lion Caerhowel.

Billy Evans, Bobby Gough, Lewis Evans, Rob Finney and Richard Jenkins and both doubles went to the Pheasant. The Lion have 14 points.

Castle A have gone second on 24 points after a 4-3 win at the Kings Head B. Mark Smith, Steve Allsobrook and both doubles went for Castle, while Glyn Jones, Jack Lewis and Alex Howard (180) won for the Kings Head B who are third on 23 points.

The Owl & Pussycat are fourth on 22 points after losing to the Black Lion Llanfair 4-3.

Iestyn Pryce, Jack Jones and Dan Morgan (180) won for the Black Lion, while Will Powell and Matt Knight won for the Owl. The doubles were shared. The Black Lion are now sixth on 20 points.

The Powis Arms Pool Quay are now fifth on 21 points after a close 4-3 win against the Angel. Harry Jones, Alun Jones and both doubles accounted for the Powis Arms. Alister Williams, Huw Humphreys and Jack Pryce won for the Angel. The Angel are eighth on 20 points.

The Red Lion Misfits are ninth on 17 points after a 3-4 loss to the Grapes B. Lanty Jones and Dumbo Williams won for the Misfits, while Scott Jones, Rob Jones and Robbie Davies won for the Grapes B. The doubles were shared.
