Victory is S-wheat for Rich

Lakeside’s new club champion is Richard Wheat who also posted a new course record on his way to winning the title.

Wheat (pictured) followed up his 69 on Day One with a superb 66 on the second day to take the honours, an impressive total of 135.

Despite the dry summer, the course was in magnificent condition as Wheat held off the challenge of Joe Davies in second and Nick Rawlings in third.

Meanwhile, the recent Texas Scramble Open Competition was won by the team of Sandra Davies, Andrew Macdonald, Ian Clark and Peter Philpott.

In the club’s Charity Day competition, Tony Meredith took the top spot on the countback with 40 points from Joe Davies, while Clayton Bowen was third on 39 points.
