11/09/2024 @ 09:11

Welshpool Medical Practice has asked us to share the following urgent announcement

Important Notice: Changes to Our Computer System

Dear Patients,

We are writing to inform you about some important changes happening at Welshpool Medical Practice and Guilsfield Surgery. Over the coming weeks, we will be transitioning to a new clinical computer system, called EMIS Web. While this change will help us provide you with better service in the long term, there will be some short-term disruptions.

Here’s what you need to know:

Temporary Reduced Access to Appointments

The practice and branch surgery will remain open throughout offering full General Medical Services, howeverduring the transition period of the October 17, October 18, October 21, October 22 and October 23 inclusive, there will be reduced availability of appointments, as we will need additional time for data migration. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly ask for your patience during this time.

Ordering Prescriptions Early

If you require a prescription, we recommend that you order your medications by October  1, 2024. This will ensure that you have sufficient supply during the transition period. This will help us manage our workload and ensure timely processing for yourselves. Please note if you are on our Automatic Medication ordering system we will organise this for you and therefore you do not need to worry.

Questions or Concerns?

We understand that changes can be unsettling, but please be assured that we are making this switch to enhance the quality of care we provide. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact our Practice Manager, Mrs Gaynor Maclennan, for further information.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Sincerely,

Drs Russell, Aslam, Vibhishanan, Kelly, Kingham and Hirons
