Four men have been remanded in custody following an incident at Leighton Arches on the edge of town that saw a huge armed response from police officers on Sunday.
Up to 10 police vehicles were seen at the site by readers and this evening, Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed they had responded to “a report of a disorder involving a weapon”. Officers, including armed response, attended the location and one man was taken to hospital with injuries to the hand.
Police said the following were arrested and remain in custody:
One man, 59, was arrested for grievous bodily harm.
One man, 38, was arrested for threats to kill and affray.
One man, 28, was arrested for affray and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
One man, 25, was arrested for affray.
Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Grant said: “Whilst we understand the concern regarding the incident at Leighton Arches this weekend, I would like to reassure our community that this was an isolated incident.
“Our officers will continue to be present in the local community providing patrols should you have any concerns and wish to speak to us.”
