Cardiff Air Ambulance attended Welshpool night club incident

The scene of this morning’s incident that resulted in an area being cordoned off by police is now cleared, with Wales Air Ambulance confirming that their helicopter from Cardiff attended.

Revellers were evacuated from Molto night club in the early hours through a back door following the incident, which happened close to its outside entrance on Berriew Street.

We have asked Dyfed-Powys Police for information.

A spokesperson for the Air Ambulance told us this afternoon: “I can confirm that our Cardiff-based overnight crew attended the Welshpool area in the early hours of this morning. Unfortunately, we are unable to give any further details at this time.”

This morning, our correspondent visited the scene and described a blood-stained pavement and the remnants of a first aid kit. A police car and officer were in attendance, but they have now gone.
