Cardiff Air Ambulance attended Welshpool night club incident

The scene of this morning’s incident that resulted in an area being cordoned off by police is now cleared, with Wales Air Ambulance confirming that their helicopter from Cardiff attended.

Revellers were evacuated from Molto night club in the early hours through a back door following the incident.

We have asked Dyfed-Powys Police for information, but readers have told us that the helicopter landed in Berriew Street Car Park to assist with the response.

A spokesperson for the charity told us this afternoon: “I can confirm that our Cardiff-based overnight crew attended the Welshpool area in the early hours of this morning. Unfortunately, we are unable to give any further details at this time.”

This morning, our correspondent visited the scene and described a blood-stained pavement and the remnants of a first aid kit. A police car and officer were in attendance, but they have now gone.
