Town centre road closed after Tuesday night incident

Readers reported another terrifying incident on the back road last night, close to the same spot that a car smashed into fencing several years ago.

Brook Street was closed with police attending the scene after what was described as a ‘car out of control’ striking both a telegraph pole and a lamppost.

One reader told us the car, a VW Golf, was heading towards the Raven, but ended up facing the opposite way following the collisions.

One loose wheel was seen resting against a car parked on the side of the road, but readers didn’t think that any other vehicles had been struck. There are not thought to be any injuries.

At around 10.15pm last night, Dyfed Powys Police announced that the road was closed to allow British Telecom to replace the telegraph pole.
