29/06/2026 @ 01:55

Church Street reopened last night as forensic officers completed their meticulous work on the scene of an incident that happened in the early hours of Sunday that has led to a murder investigation.

And in a new update overnight, Dyfed-Powys Police are asking for witnesses to come forward and report any information they have through a dedicated web page (listed below).

Officers were called to Church Street at 1.16am, to reports that a 49-year-old man had been injured. Sadly, despite the best efforts of ambulance service personnel, he died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and is in police custody.

Enquiries are progressing, led by CID and the major crime team, and there will continue to be a police presence in the town centre over the coming days.

The investigation team said it has identified a key timeframe of 12.45am to 1.15am, and would like to hear from:

  • Anyone who witnessed a disturbance in or around Church Street between these times
  • Anyone with mobile phone, video or dashcam footage of a disturbance, or the people involved
  • Anyone present on Church Street between these times
  • Anyone who can identify any other people who were present at the location between these times
