Leaking valve will be fixed ‘quickly as possible’

06/01/2026 @ 04:13

Hafren Dyfrdwy has said its engineers are on site to try and fix a leaking valve that resulted in the sudden closure of Borfa Green Bank this morning.

Earlier today, Cllr Graham Breeze confirmed that it was the water company that had taken the action, and that it could be closed for three days.

And in an update provided to MyWelshpool this afternoon, a spokesperson said they are doing what they can to minimise any disruption.

The Hafren Dyfrdwy spokesperson said: “Our teams are on site at Westwood Road (also known as Borfa Green Bank) to repair a leaking valve. Because of the location of the repair and for the safety of the public and our team, a road closure is in place.

“We understand that emergency repairs like this can be an inconvenience and we thank everyone for their patience while we work as quickly as possible to get this fixed and the road returned to normal.”
