Election Day in Welshpool Thursday

Part of Welshpool will be voting today for a by-election to fill the vacant seat on the Town Council’s Castle Ward.

And it’s a shoot-out between two very active female Independent councillors that will be familiar to many voters already.

Kelly Meredith (right) has been carrying out a crusade to tidy up the town this year, and she will be trying for a second time to become a councillor.

But former councillor, Julie Arnold (top), is bidding for a return to the Town Council having moved back to the area this summer.

Voting will take place at the Town Hall.
