The young Guilsfield man who tragically died in Sunday’s road accident have described him as a “gentle and kind-hearted boy who always saw the best in people”.

George Joseph Powell, aged 21, was riding his motorbike when it was involved in a collision on the A490, between Guilsfield and Welshpool, on Sunday lunch time not far from the Raven roundabout.

His family have paid tribute to a much-loved son, brother and grandson.

“Georgie was a gentle and kind-hearted boy who always saw the best in people,” the family have said in a statement. “He also loved animals, all big and small.

“His sweet and caring nature shone through in everything he did. He was the best parts of all of us. A loved son, brother and grandson.

“We would be grateful to now be afforded the time to grieve”

Officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the bike travelling through Guilsfield towards Welshpool shortly before the collision to come forward.
