Return of the Guilsfield Christmas Tree

Year 6 pupils from Guilsfield County Primary School helped to welcome the return of the public Christmas Tree to the village.

It’s been several years since there was a tree in the village, but following a suggestion from Mrs Marj Cook, a tree was donated by the Derwen Garden Centre and it was erected outside of the school.

“The children enjoyed singing whilst the lights were officially switched on,” said headteacher, Amanda Williams.

“Our thanks go to The Derwen Garden Centre for donating the tree, and to Phil and Justine Newman and Clair Taylor for erecting the tree, and the Community Council for providing the lights.”
