Welshpool schools among several to close today

Welshpool High School and Ysgol Gymraeg Y Trallwng will be closed today with management not wanting to risk health and safety due to the adverse weather.

As our readers have already reported this morning, icy conditions out there for motorists and pedestrians are posing problems so several schools in Powys have already made the call to close.

Newtown and Llanidloes high schools have also announced they will close.

Meanwhile, rail travel is also being impacted this morning but it is thought that trains are being impacted due to staff shortages, and not due to the weather.
