Readers have been sharing their early morning experiences following a chilly night that saw temperatures drop to -3 in the Welshpool area.
One reader messaged us to say: “I have just walked down towards town and the pavements are absolutely lethal out there.”
At 6.30am, no schools were listed as being closed today on the official Powys web site, but parents and carers are advised to keep checking https://en.powys.gov.uk/schoolclosures following yesterday’s widespread closures.
The gritters have been out again to keep the main A roads ticking, but B roads are reported to be tricky so again the advice is to allow plenty of time should you have to drive this morning.
Powys County Council said it was sorry for its missed bin collections on Tuesday, and asked residents to take their bins back inside and they will be collected again next week on the normal day.
There may be some snow flurries in the coming couple of hours, but it will brighten up through the day, but temperatures will remain low.
