Welshpool will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the recent problems caused by heavy rainfall after it was reported that a jetter crew have been out and about clearing drains this week.
One of the town’s three county councillors, Graham Breeze, said this morning that the team had targeted areas which were hardest hit by the flash floods last month.
He said this morning: “The jetter crew attended Union Street and Church Bank areas in Welshpool yesterday and have emptied all pits and jetted the system clear following the recent flooding.
“The ACO drainage channels also got a swill and are reported to be flowing well.
“The pits either side of the steps on Red Bank and the associated trash screen has also been cleared and a free flow regained.”
Last month’s downpour resulted in flooding in several areas of the town after drainage systems struggled to cope.
