It has been revealed that a whopping £6 million could be pumped into the local economy thanks to the Urdd Eisteddfod that will be held a week from today.
After years of preparations, the long-awaited return for the massive event to our area for the first time since 1988 will happen from May 27-June 1.
Up to 90,000 people are expected to pack the fields of Mathrafal Farm by Meifod, and organisers estimate that they will collectively spend around £6m on local services like accommodation, food, shopping and services.
As this picture, provided to us by From Above – Drone Photography, shows things are taking shape as we countdown to one of the biggest cultural and social events the area has ever known.
