Urgent volunteer plea for big Welshpool tree planting weekend

15/10/2024 @ 09:42

A charity looking to plant hundreds of trees in the Welshpool area next month is calling for more volunteers to come forward after admitting they are “struggling”.

Protect Earth is working with a local landowner to plant the small native, broadleaved saplings on the outskirts of the town on November 30 and December 1 and despite an appeal for help last month, they said they really need more help.

A spokesperson took to social media last night to appeal: “We are offering a free team building day for companies with the chance to use your photos on your website and social media.

“Local families, sports clubs, students, those working for their Duke of Edinburgh Award, Guides, Scouts, charities and private individuals are all very welcome to come and lend a hand too.”

Protect Earth is a small environmental charity planting trees across the UK to help the environment and reduce climate change.

If anyone feels they can help, and no previous experience is required with equipment provided, you can email help@protect.earth
