Bob Marley’s “fantastic” Welshpool turn-out!
Flicks in the Sticks was reintroduced last year as something that the council could provide to the people of Welshpool, free of charge, and the latest evening proved a hit.
Bob Marley: One Love was shown at the Town Hall for free, and attracted over 50 people with donations and tea and cake sales almost covering the cost.
“It is the biggest crowd we have had so far,” said Chris Davies at this week’s Events and Tourism Committee meeting. “It is thriving.”
Cllr Billy Spencer said: “I know there were some councillors against this returning, but it has proven itself that we are providing a service that the town wants. Well done to all involved.”
Next month’s showing will be on Monday, October 7, with the critically-acclaimed Allelujah being screened.
