FINALLY! Banking Hub’s ramp designs released

It’s been a long time coming, but MyWelshpool can reveal that the long-awaited Banking Hub disabled access and ATM plans are going through the planning system.

The designs have been submitted to Powys County Council’s planning department, and responses from concerned parties have already been logged that, so far, are encouraging.

The Banking Hub opened to much fanfare last year, but nine months on, the disabled access has been stuck in a planning wrangle due to the need for an ATM.

The requirement of the Welsh Government Highways Authority to green light the plans due to it being located next to a trunk road has also drawn out the issue.

But there is positive news with Authority giving a warm initial reaction to the plans.

Welshpool County Councillor, Graham Breeze, called it “good news at last”.
