Ysgol Llanfyllin sixth formers have good reason to celebrate tonight after picking up some excellent A-level results.

Such was the success, every pupil has gained a place at the university of their choice to study a range of courses.

The outstanding individual performances this year include a remarkable 10 students who achieved at least three A* and A grades or equivalent.

These included: Cadi Davies, Catherine Edwards, Maddie Egerton Morris, Elin Evans, Millie Hunter, Kobe Jones, Leanne Kilvert, Robbie Marsden Jones, Eliza Shaul and Hazel Weaver.

At AS level there were also some excellent performances with six students achieving two or more A grades. These included: Matthew Benson, Ruby Evans, Leonora Hird, Rachel Howells, Lucas Tyldesley and Alice Whitley.

“Our congratulations go out to all our students who have achieved an outstanding set of results again this year,” said Dewi Owen, Headteacher.

“We would like to express our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all our students, families and staff members for their hard work, dedication and professionalism.”

University course now await in subjects including Art, History, Psychology, Classical Studies, Sports Science, Teaching, Business, Physics with Nuclear Science, Politics, Mechanical Engineering, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Criminology.

“This success is due to a combination of factors: the fact that we are able to offer a wide curriculum in order to best meet students’ needs; the enthusiasm and commitment of our students; the hard work and dedication of our staff; and of course, the amazing support and encouragement of parents, carers and families,” Mr Owen added.
