40s fundraiser this weekend with two months to go

Organisers of the Welshpool 1940s Weekend from September 27-29 are busy raising funds for the event with a vintage tea being held in the Corn Exchange at Welshpool Town Hall.

Suitably decorated to give the ambience of a vintage tea room, visitors will sit at tables covered by linen table cloths with china crockery, be served by waitresses in black dresses and white aprons serving a selection of homemade cakes plus tea and coffee.

Open from 2-4pm, there is no need to book and it will cost £5 for a pot of tea or coffee plus two cakes per person.

Next Tuesday, there will be a cash bingo in the Corn Exchange with eyes down at 7pm.
