8 nights of road closures start from Buttington roundabout tonight

Welshpool motorists can expect diversions in place for the next eight nights to allow access work to be carried out to the new Costa Coffee drive-thru taking shape at Buttington roundabout.

Major work is being developed on two sides of the roundabout with the Starbucks and KFC on one side being joined by the Costa and Tesla car charging hub on the other.

But it means that from 7pm-7am on weeknights until October 31, the A458 between the roundabout and Buttington Church will be closed.

The closure will allow for access road work to be carried out as well as the installation of signage.

It means that motorists travelling to Welshpool from the Trewern direction will have to take the B4388 towards Leighton and entering Welshpool past Leighton Arches. The same route will be taken in reverse for those going the other way.
