Welshpool High School pupils have been praised by their head teacher following another set of strong A-level results today.

Jon Arnold said he was “extremely proud of you all” and with some gaining a full house of A-grades.

“These results reflect the enormous hard work and commitment of our students,” said Mr Arnold.

“It was a pleasure to see them collecting their results today, and to appreciate the amazing young adults they have become during their time at the school.”

Notable achievements:

Tomos Haine (A*, 2 A’s), Gwen Kuipers (3 A’s), Sam Cadwallader (3 A’s), Holly Davies (A*, 2 A’s, 2 B’s), Alan Wiltshire-Fessey (Distinction*, A*, A), Elen Jones (3 A’s, B).

Many of the students have secured university places or will take up apprenticeships with destinations including Cardiff, Liverpool, Manchester and Aberystwyth.

“We would also like to thank parents and carers whose support has enabled our students to achieve so much,” Mr Arnold added.

“This, alongside the guidance and help from staff at the school, has given the young people within our community the best possible chances to fulfil their potential and succeed in their chosen career paths.

“Everyone associated with the school would like to congratulate the students and wish them all the very best for the future.”
