Putting Welshpool in the picture!

A new photography competition has been launched that will help to promote Welshpool to the world!

Welshpool Town Council has launched the summer competition ahead of the unveiling of its new web site later in the year which will feature many of the entered images.

The four themes are Welshpool, Community, Services and Tourism and the digital photographs must not include clear images of children or adults.

The Town Council is encouraging a wide variety of images that could include the town’s built or natural heritage, recreation or community action.

“Welshpool Town Council is very pleased to be working with GWE Cambrian Web in the design and development of our new website, which will meet all public sector legislative standards and provide an easily navigable source of information for our community and visitors,” said Alison Davies, Town Mayor.

“This has been a long time coming and we know that this resource will enable us to offer a far better service. We are excited to link the new website with this photographic competition; our role is to work for the people of Welshpool; this website belongs to the town and it will show the images that are valued by our community.”

This photography competition will allow everyone in Welshpool to showcase their own photography skills, highlighting the beauty and delights we see anywhere in our three electoral wards.”

All entries must be received before September 1, when online voting will take place.
