Another drugs farm found in Welshpool town centre

Yet another cannabis farm is believed to have been discovered in the heart of Welshpool this afternoon.

Plain clothed and uniformed officers are on the scene at the corner of High Street and Chelsea Lane with activity centred around a house.

Our correspondent said that bystanders had been told there was a suspected cannabis farm discovered, and that Scottish Power engineers are on the way, signalling that there may have been access to the mains electricity.

Welshpool has become a centre for drug-growing gangs with huge discoveries over the past year at empty buildings that once housed HSBC, Savers, and The County Times as well as at a property on the Buttington Farm Industrial Estate.
