Wanted: A Welshpool rapper for new music

09/09/2024 @ 09:39

It’s not often we get asked to help look for a potential local rap star, but that’s exactly what musician Nik Corfield wants.

Nik was born and brought up in Welshpool, but moved to London in the 1980s for drama school and also got involved in the music business, performing with big names including The Eurythmics, The Cure, Sinead O’Connor and Adam and the Ants.

He moved back to the area but has continued to produce his own music and is now looking to work with someone local to rap over his electronic dance music.

“The rapper must be able to write and spit their own bars, and perform live,” said Nik. “Tracks can be listened to on Spotify, Amazon Music, Bandcamp and Apple Music, so if you’re interested, get in touch!”

Nik, known as Riskynik has just released his first solo CD – The Gormenghast EP - and is looking to perform live once his next CD is released.

If you think you have got what it takes, contact Nik through nikcorfield@gmail.com.
