MyWelshpool turns 14 today!
What a remarkable time it has been!
The hastening demise of the local news print industry persuaded us to try something different, and at the time pioneering, for the Welshpool area, and we haven’t looked back since.
When we launched, we thought that we would attract a few hundred readers, but fast forward 14 years and tens of thousands of you have read millions of pages of news.
We can’t thank you enough for your support. We were one of Britain’s first independent hyperlocal news sites and literally hundreds have followed since covering just about every square mile of the country!
Our big selling point from the get-go was that we would be free-of-charge to access for all, and despite many going down the subscription route, as a thank-you to our wonderful readers, we pledge another 12 months of up-to-date, as-it-happens local news that won’t cost you a penny.
All this is possible thanks to some wonderful agreements in place with our advertisers who have shown tremendous commitment to enabling us to provide a vital local service for all.
