Two local companies have teamed up to provide an opportunity for a local junior team to be kitted out for free this season.
Activ8Kids, Mid Wales’ leading provider of children’s sports coaching in primary schools and multi-sports holiday camps, has partnered with local embroidery and print specialists Constructiv Clothing to launch Activ8Kits, a new community competition offering one junior sports team the chance to win a brand-new playing kit worth £500 ahead of the new season.
The competition is open to junior sports teams competing at Under-16 level or below and based within one hour of Newtown.
“At Activ8Kids, we’ve spent more than 17 years helping children across Mid Wales and the Borders to enjoy sport, build confidence and develop a lifelong love of being active”, said Barry Lloyd, Director of Activ8Kids Ltd.
“We know how important local clubs are in creating those opportunities, but we also understand the financial pressures many teams and families face. Through Activ8Kits, we wanted to give something back to grassroots sport and support the volunteers and communities who make it all possible for young people to get involved and stay active.”
Vaughan Harding, Sales Manager at Constructiv Clothing, commented: “Supporting local sport is a key part of our commitment to the communities we serve across Mid Wales.
“Following our recent announcement as title sponsor of the Montgomeryshire Amateur Football League, partnering with Activ8Kids on Activ8Kits is another important step in our strategy of supporting grassroots sport across Mid Wales.
“Local clubs and volunteers give countless hours to create opportunities for young people to play sport and stay active, to be able to help with an initiative that removes some of the financial barriers they face is something we're incredibly proud of.”
