Police officers were sent to hospital as a precaution last night after a man was arrested and charged following an incident close to the new Costa Coffee on Buttington Roundabout.
Social media pictures posted last night showed at least five police vehicles and two fire engines on the scene at the new drive-through which only opened last month.
And this afternoon, Dyfed-Powys Police said they were responding to a domestic disturbance in a motorhome at around 6pm, but the situation worsened when an unknown substance was also discovered.
“Officers attended and Nicholas John Bagnall, a 42-year-old man from Wrexham, was arrested and charged with breaching a Domestic Abuse Protection Order. He was remanded in custody and appeared in Welshpool Magistrates Court today,” a police spokesperson said.
“Attending officers encountered an unknown substance which led to ambulance and fire service being called for assistance. The substance was confirmed to be cleaning chemicals that had mixed together, causing an adverse reaction.
“The officers were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.”
