This weekend brings the welcome return of the Steam Gala for the Welshpool & Llanfair Steam Railway, with a huge range of activities for the whole family.
From Friday through to Sunday, visitors are expected to flood in from across the UK, with a spitfire flyover on Saturday set to be one of the most striking attractions for the weekend.
A free bus will link the main line trains to Raven Square every 30 minutes with a bus stop opposite the Tourist Information Centre.
There is also a Route-Master bus every hour from Raven Square to Llanfair Caereinion along with a minibus from Llanfair Caereinion to the Leisure Centre with the garden railway.
Tickets are all inclusive (except for the visiting engine rides) of all trains and activities and can be purchased online or on the day.
There is free entry to the site attractions at both ends of the line, but donations are accepted. Car parking is limited at Llanfair with extra parking at the Leisure Centre.
There is car parking on site at Welshpool Raven Square at £3 per day and there is also a free brochure to guide visitors around the event.
What trains are there?
There is an intensive timetable with The Earl, Zillertal and Premier (visiting engine from the Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway) in steam. Other locos will be on static display at both Raven Square and Llanfair.
