Could Welshpool come to Welshpool?
Wrexham Football Club has revealed that the character from the new Deadpool blockbuster, called Welshpool, is now on show at its stadium café (pictured).
It has proved a massive hit with fans queuing up during Saturday’s match to grab a picture alongside it, so imagine how much interest it would bring the actual Welshpool if we could secure it for a bit?
The Welshpool suit is being kept behind a glass box and was worn by Wrexham striker Paul Mullin in this summer’s biggest hit, Deadpool & Wolverine, which was released in the UK on July 25.
At the time, Wrexham co-owner and Deadpool star Reynolds said on X: “You may have noticed one member of the Deadpool Corps was far deadlier than the rest. WELSHPOOL.”
The character appeared during a sequence which saw dozens of Deadpool variants together on screen.
But Welshpool, the town, has been slow to capitalise on a potential marketing boost, so could this provide the perfect opportunity?
