The Wales U19 team may have struggled whilst hosting the Euro U19 Championships this past week, but a group of Welshpool players shone in the Wrexham sun on Saturday.
The club was asked to provide young players to act as flag carriers and ball kids for the Wales U19 clash with Denmark, which finished 3-0 to the Scandinavians.
The match was particularly poignant for Welshpool Town secretary Eva Bredsdorff, who is Danish and was presented with a signed Denmark shirt prior to the match.
“It was a memorable day with so many lovely compliments about our Welshpool players who did such a good job representing the club,” said Eva.
It hasn’t been a great tournament for hosts, Wales, with three defeats from three games, including previous defeats to Spain (7-0) and Germany (4-0).
