Welshpool Golf Club has been handed a tremendous honour, after being named the fourth ‘Best Cheap Course in Great Britain & Ireland’.
The list has been compiled by the respected web site – Today’s Golfer – who pull together Top 100 lists for golfers to view from around the world.
Their latest list features courses that you can play for £40 or less and Welshpool features in a lofty fourth, just behind Kington in first, Shiskine (Scotland) in second and Painswick (Gloucestershire) in third.
Welshpool is described as: “Lofty moorland with some serious good holes – led by the 16th and 17th – mean it is very prominent in the Wales Top 100. This is a great price (£35) for a high calibre course that benefits from elevation change, and where natural slops negate the need for bunkers.”
The club responded: “We’re proud to see Welshpool Golf Club featured fourth in GB&I’s Top 100 Courses for £40 & Under.
“We are ranked among some of the best value golf experiences across Great Britain & Ireland, it’s fantastic recognition for our course, our team, and everyone who supports the club.
“If you haven’t played Welshpool yet, now’s the perfect time to discover why golfers keep coming back: stunning views, a welcoming atmosphere, and unforgettable golf at incredible value.”
