It was another remarkable weekend for Welshpool elite athlete Adele Nicoll who secured a pair of top 10 finishes in the latest IBSF World Cup bobsleigh round in Lillehammer, Norway.

Adele has battled back from two serious injuries this season to re-establish herself amongst the bobsleigh elite with a fine ninth-place finish in the Monobob on Saturday.

She finished just 0.84-of-a-second behind gold medallist Breeana Walker, of Australia, with the promise of more to come.

“This season has been fight after fight, which I have turned up to every time, giving 100% of what I have that day,” said Adele.

“After some serious injuries, I reframed my approach to racing and have enjoyed trying to hunt down sleds to climb the ranks.

“I’ve learned to understand that braveness is not the absence of fear, but the strength to embrace it and know that I’ll handle whatever comes my way and keep on going forwards.”

She then teamed up with Ashleigh Nelson to compete in the two-woman bobsleigh on Sunday, finishing a brilliant seventh in a world-class field, just a fraction of a second off the podium places.
