It has been confirmed over the weekend that Welshpool will host the opening round of the 2025 Motorsport UK Pirelli Welsh Rally Championship.
The championship promises a thrilling season as it will feature seven rounds across some of the world's finest gravel forest stages.
Organised by the Welsh Association of Motor Clubs, the championship will span mid, north, and south Wales, providing a diverse and geographically well-distributed rally experience.
The championship begins on March 29 with the Get Jerky Rally North Wales, based in Welshpool, and concludes with the Wyedean Rally on November 15 in the Wales/England border region.

· The championship will consist of seven rounds, with events spread across different regions of Wales, offering a good mix of mid-Wales (four rounds), north Wales (two rounds), and one in the south.
· The season runs from late March to mid-November, ensuring a well-spaced calendar with no two events in the same month.
· Each event will be held over a single day, with stages ranging between 45 and 60 miles, designed for cost-efficiency and minimal road mileage.
· Rally4Wales will prepare the stages, ensuring excellent road conditions, known for their smooth surfaces.
· The championship will feature several classes, including the Historics (with the David Stokes Historic Challenge and Guy Weaver awards), Hockly Motorsport 2WD, and the 57 Tyres Welsh Challenge, which has grown with competitors from across the UK and beyond.
· The Under 25 section, supported by OnThePaceNote and Restruct, continues to develop young rally talent.
· Competitors will benefit from a point system where the top 22 drivers and co-drivers score points, with their best five results counting towards overall and class titles.
