New works to be exhibited

Llanfyllin-based gallery, Awen, has announced that their Beltane show will be Fragments, a group exhibition of new works.

With the ever-shifting sands of the geo-political map changing before our eyes, Fragments is a series of artistic responses to the modern world in this time of uncertainty.

From humorous commentary to invented landscapes, Fragments re-assembles the broken reflection to offer an alternative future in which the imagination can roam.

In addition to the exhibition opening, Awen will also be hosting the launch of The Chronic, a new quarterly artzine with contributions from artists, writers, poets and graphic designers from around the UK.

“With prose, poetry, graphics and more, the Chronic will be a welcome addition for the creative arts,” a spokesperson said.

The new Exhibition opens this Thursday and runs until Sunday, June 14.

A Private View and the artzine launch take place this Saturday from 6pm-9pm.

Awen is open on Thursdays to Saturdays from 10am-5pm, and Sundays from 10am-4pm, and is located at Glasgow House, Narrow Street, Llanfyllin (SY22 5BU).
