The teenager arrested following Friday’s shocking incident in Newtown town centre when a man received stab wounds has been formally charged and is due to appear in court today.
The incident on Friday afternoon near Parker’s Lane resulted in a part of the town centre being cordoned off for most of the weekend.
And Dyfed-Powys Police have now shared the latest update.
“One male, aged 16, has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of a bladed article in a public place, and actual bodily harm,” we have been told in a statement.
“He has been remanded in custody to appear at Welshpool Magistrates Court today (Monday).
“The victim was taken to hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.”
