Pupils engineering a future career

The engineers and scientists of tomorrow were put through their paces this week when a local primary school enjoyed some specialist training.

Myrick Training Services attended the “Maths Inspire Morning” at Leighton Primary school, where children, teachers and parents had a go with their science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activity kits to get the pupils excited about engineering.

Acting headteacher, Mrs Lindsay Clarke, said: “What a great atmosphere around school and a fabulous buzz in the hall, with everyone getting stuck in. We’ve had some great feedback from the adults who attended, and the children have absolutely loved it and got loads out of it too.”

Myrick Training Services is keen to visit more local schools and encourages them to reach out.

The event was supported by Mid Wales Manufacturing Group with a Tetrahedron challenge.
