Get set for Welshpool ‘Tina Turner’ concert this summer

The sounds of Tina Turner will be rocking Welshpool this summer after the Town Council confirmed they will go ahead with a huge tribute concert at the Town Hall.

The local authority is keen to put on more events and entertainment for residents to enjoy, and after working with promoters in the past, they are keen to take on their own events this year.

At this week’s Events and Tourism Committee meeting, councillors agreed to book the ‘Simply Tina’ tribute act, with a date in June expected to be confirmed, along with ticket information, next month.

With widespread renovation work set to srtart on the Town Hall later this year, plans for a second tribute night featuring an ABBA act are on hold until a schedule of works is known.
