Welshpool Carnival has booked a stunning headline act this summer with the BMX team, Savage Skills, set to perform at the grounds on Maesydre.
An update on the event was provided at this week’s Welshpool Town Council Events and Tourism Committee meeting, when councillors were presented with several options.
But the bike show got the nod due to its ability to be held ‘whatever the weather’.
The show will come at a cost of £1,450, but organisers are looking to trim costs elsewhere by learning from what didn’t work in 2024.
Events co-ordinator Kimberly Wright told councillors: “We need a headline act, and they are very good.”
Welshpool Carnival is due to take place on Sunday, June 22.
What we can expect from Savage Skills if it does rain on Carnival day:
“If it rains we’ll continue whatever the weather. Our equipment is designed to allow us
to perform in the wet, we take rider safety very seriously so certain very crazy tricks
may be removed from the performance, but you’ll still get backflips whatever the
weather!”
