Popular walking spot back open

A popular walking route has reopened after being closed due to safety concerns following the pre-Christmas storms.

The Deri Woods in Llanfair Caereinion were hit hard by storms Bert and Darragh, with several trees falling and others left hanging in a dangerous condition.

Emergency work has been done to remove what immediate problems could be found, but walkers are still being urged to be cautious when using the paths.

“Deri Woods is now open again except for a small area where paths have been damaged by the storms (by the riverside). The areas concerned are marked clearly,” said Town Clerk, Robert Robinson.
