Week-long road closure to connect new estate

Motorists that use the main road from Guilsfield to Arddleen and vice versa are being given notice of a one-week closure.

Hafren Dyfrdwy have told villagers that the closure is needed to connect the new housing development at the east end of the village to the water mains.

The B4392 will be closed from the edge of the village from Monday, October 28, until Sunday, November 3.

A diversion will be put in place but officials will be hoping that the weather is kind as traffic is often diverted through the area when the main road out of Welshpool along the Moors Straight is flooded.

“We’ll keep access to properties or businesses within the closure, including access for emergency services, but access will only be from one side or the other of the working area,” said a spokesperson for Hafren Dyfrdwy. “There will be no through road access and there will be a signposted diversion route in place, but you may wish to allow extra time for your journey.”

Villagers have also been assured that their water supply shouldn’t be impacted during the week of work.
