Llanfyllin’s loss is set to become Welshpool’s gain after a firm announced it is shifting its operation to Buttington Cross Enterprise Park.
Morland Products, a manufacturer of pre-finished fit out products, is moving closer to its parent company Newmore Group Ltd which is based on Henfaes Lane after 40 years in Llanfyllin.
The firm’s Managing Director James Morris said the 28 jobs will switch too, with no losses expected.
He said: “Our products have to go through three or four different factories, so it makes sense to move into a new building in Welshpool next to the existing ones. It gives us extra space and we can bring in new machinery.”
A buyer or tenant is being sought for the vacant 32,328 square feet factory, which provides office and manufacturing space on a 1.2 acre site.
The Cain Valley Trading Estate property is being marketed by joint Shrewsbury agents Halls Commercial and Towler Shaw Roberts for £525,000 freehold or a guide annual rent of £65,000.
The Newmor Group is enjoying business growth and is currently recruiting an additional sales executive, product manager and management accountant based in Welshpool. The group is run by the grandsons of John Morris, who founded the company in 1967.
