Two of the three people who sadly died in a road traffic collision earlier this month near Churchstoke had moved to the area this year to retire, Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed.

The couple, named only as David and Pamela, tragically died on the A489 on December 11, and their family have paid a touching tribute.

“David and Pamela were loving members of our family,” the family has said in a statement. “They were both very special to us all. David and Pamela had moved to the area earlier this year to enjoy their retirement. We would like to thank everyone for their support at this horrific time. It has meant so much to the whole family.”

The family have asked for time to grieve and for privacy.

Officers continue to appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the collision on the A489 between Churchstoke and Lydham at around 4.50pm on December 11, to get in touch.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam footage that could support their investigation.

Dyfed-Powys Police said that the couple were travelling in a red Toyota Yaris, and the driver of a grey Audi A4, who has not been named, was also killed in the crash, while a passenger in the Toyota was taken to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries.
