Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed this afternoon that the two men charged following a fatal collsion near Welshpool last year will stand trial from Monday.
Abubakr Ben Yusaf and Umar Ben Yusaf, believed to be from the Manchester area, will stand trial at Mold Crown Court accused of a number of offenses following the tragic death of popular local rugby coach and referee Rhys Jenkins on the A483 in Belan on November 26, last year. His son was also injured in the collission and airlifted to hospital.
Abubakr Ben Yusaf, who was driving a red BMW X5, is accused of drug driving, causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, causing death whilst uninsured, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.
Umar Ben Yusaf, who was driving a blue Audi S4, is accused of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, causing death whilst uninsured, and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.
The pair denied the charges when they appeared in court last January.
