Owls about that then!

One of the most gifted comedians and actors of the past 30 years has been pictured in Welshpool.

Alistair McGowan is best known for his brilliant impressions of celebrities and public figures, and was critically acclaimed for his portrayal of the disgraced Jimmy Saville in a 2015 play.

But the 60-year-old was pictured at lunch time behind the bar at the Owl & Pussycat having popped in for a pint on his way through town.

The pub proclaimed on Instagram: “It was a pleasure to have impressionist and coming Alistair McGowan in the Owl this afternoon whilst passing through town. Wishing him and his partner a happy anniversary too!”

The popular pub then goes on to invite Mr McGowan back with an invitation to “pull a pint” next time!
