Police were called to Welshpool’s household recycling centre following reports of a visitor acting aggressively towards staff.
Wednesday saw the introduction of Powys County Council’s new controversial tip-booking system, but one reader told us tempers boiled over when one person apparently turned up on Thursday without an appointment but still tried to gain access.
A spokesperson for Powys County Council told us: “We can confirm that we have been informed by the contractor of an incident at the household recycling centre in Welshpool on April 3 to which the police were called.
“We would like to remind residents that violent or aggressive behaviour towards staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”
It is not known whether any arrests were made, and we have contacted Dyfed-Powys Police for information.
