29/01/2025 @ 10:15

Author and former Powys County Council Deputy Leader, Myfanwy Alexander, has been elected unopposed to Llanfair Caereinion Town Council.

Cllr Alexander was an outspoken member of the county council, rising to Deputy Leader and also serving time as the council’s Portfolio Holder for Education, whilst also taking responsibility for Housing and Climate Change, Adult Social Care, Welsh Language, Communications and Engagement.

She has not been involved in local politics since losing her Banwy seat at the last council elections in 2022, but was confirmed last night as the new member of Llanfair Caereinion Town Council having been elected unopposed.

Away from local politics, Cllr Alexander is a respected author with a number of books published, and she has also featured on a number of BBC Radio programmes.
