Residents of Guilsfield are fuming after seeing their village turned into a ‘giant Panini sticker album’ over the past few months.
Stickers carrying political messages started appearing on the village sign posts and street signs in the run-up to the Senedd election, and it has gotten worse since with stickers now carrying campaigning messages with themes including anti-fox hunting.
Pleas for it to stop have been made on the village’s social media pages, but their frustration has been compounded by methods used to make it difficult to remove the stickers.
They have been described as “hideous”, “scruffy” and “giving out a bad vibe for the village” in responses on Facebook posts and several villagers have also done their best to remove the stickers.
One described the village as looking like a "giant Panini sticker album" in reference to the football sticker albums.
While many say they sympathise with the messages on them, they have still asked the culprit to stop. Several villagers have also been out to remove the stickers and graffiti that appeared on the popular 'Mill' footbridge.
The local community council has been informed and is believed to be liaising with the relevant department at Powys County Council.
