Organisers of the final Welshpool Illuminated Tractor Run in two weeks say they were overwhelmed with the response from MyWelshpool readers to their plea for help, and are now focused on making the final chapter a record breaker!
Last week we shared the plea for volunteers from Powys Annual Charity Events who were concerned that a lack of marshals would mean that the event would not be able to go ahead.
But, as well all know, MyWelshpool readers are simply the best and many stepped forward to attend a volunteer day on Saturday in the town to fill the roles available.
It means the organisers can concentrate on delivering something special on Sunday, December 8, with the event already confirmed as the final one.
“We had a very successful meet and greet at the COWSHACC on Saturday, securing enough volunteers for the event,” said Jenny Clarke, one of the lead organisers, who says that a record entry is within reach.
“We are now on final call for entries. We are so close to last year’s final total, and would love to get to the 200 tractors mark!”
Entries will close at midnight on November 30 and can be submitted by clicking here.
To boost fundraising efforts, a raffle has been launched and £1 tickets can purchased through the P.A.C.E. Facebook page. Main prizes include a children’s pedal tractor and a wooden model farm.
The event has raised thousands of pounds for charity since its first edition four years ago, and this year money raised will go to the Farming Community Network.
